BIANATT is a company that depollutes and treats Waste of Electrical and Electronic Equipment. It is affiliated with Appliances Recycling, the Collective Take Back System for WEEE in Greece. The company’s plant and operations are located in the Athens West Industrial Area (Aspropyrgos). BIANATT was established in 2007.In August 2010, ANAMET acquired BIANATT, and became its sole shareholder. The mission of BIANATT is to depollute Electrical and Electronic Equipment Waste, adhering to a high standard of environmental performance, and maximizing financial returns of operations for the benefit of stakeholders and partners. BIANATT, is also offering service for electronic and printed destruction and management of produced waste, created TOTAL ERASE.
Ecoreset was established in 2010. Its primary activity is to process composite materials and scrap returns from industrial processing in order to recover secondary raw materials. The company supplies its production of secondary raw materials to industrial customers both in Greece and abroad. ECORESET’s acquired expertise in this field, coupled with the employment (utilization) of the most appropriate techniques, allows it to process a variety of different waste streams’ products, and offer its customers integrated management services; always in compliance with the prevailing institutional and regulatory framework.

Three laboratories of the School of Mining and Metallurgical Engineering (NTUA) participate in the project:
LESE is specialised in the area of Environmental Biotechnology and has significant contribution in the state of the art. The mechanisms of the interactions between metals and microorganisms are experimentally studied, focusing on the development of wastewater treatment technology for a wide range of metal-bearing industrial liquid effluents. A second area of research activity is the monitoring of several environmental parameters in natural systems, focusing on the fate and the elucidation of the mobility mechanisms for a wide range of pollutants. The Laboratory is equipped with the necessary instrumentation and a number of standard methods are applied for the determination of pollutants in trace levels by gas and liquid chromatography, polarography, inductively coupled plasma spectroscopy etc. The design, set-up and monitoring of different bioreactor configurations for the sequestering of metals from industrial wastewater have been carried out in the Laboratory in the frame of various funded national and international projects. The scientific and technical results have been published in peer-reviewed journals.
The Unit of Hydrometallurgy is specialised in the area of Hydrometallurgy for the extraction of targeted metals from ores, metallurgical byproducts (e.g. slags, matte), wastes and metal-bearing recyclable materials. The Laboratory is equipped with the necessary units for the development of the individual stages which constitute any hydrometallurgical process, such as leaching reactors, solid-liquid separators, metal precipitating units, metal separation and recovery units using organic solvents, electrolysis cells. The equipment is suitable for laboratory and semi-pilot scale applications.
The Laboratory focuses on teaching and research referred to the processes of mechanical preparation and beneficiation of ores, industrial minerals and rocks. Since 2001, it has extended its activities (teaching and research) into the field of solid waste management. It is fully equipped with the proper devices for research into the aforementioned subjects. Part of the equipment will be used in HYDROPCB project to separate the various components of Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs).
